Our Motor Home

So now that we have sold our home, you might want to know about where we will be living.  We have a 2015 Entegra Anthem motor home that we purchased new in June of 2016.  We got a really good deal since the 2017’s were coming out, much like when you buy a car right before the new models come out in the fall of each year.

Our coach is a model 42 DEQ, which is the layout that we really liked.  It has a living area up front with an L-shaped couch, then the kitchen/dining area, then the bathroom and bedroom areas.  We have a dishwasher and washer/dryer in the coach, as well as a full sized refrigerator–all the comforts of home!

It does take some getting used to when you learn to drive this big rig, but with a 450 Cummins diesel engine it has lots of power.  We call our coach Big Blue, since the color is predominantly blue.  We liked it because it was Air Force colors and also Dallas Cowboy colors.  Here you can see some features inside:

So far, we are feeling very comfortable in our new home.  I get asked a lot whether it starts to feel claustrophobic after a while in such a small space, but truthfully I really haven’t felt that way.  Because we have two main rooms, if my husband wants to watch TV in the living area then I can always read in the bedroom.  If the weather is nice, we also have a patio area outside the coach where we can relax, read, or eat outside.

Another question I get frequently is whether we get tired of each other since we are together 24/7.  In addition to being able to go to separate spaces when we want, we also have two dogs that get walked quite often each day.  It gives one or both of us a chance to get out and walk, but also to visit with other campers.  We have found that campers are a very friendly bunch and especially those with pets tend to chat frequently.  I jokingly say that maybe campers are so friendly because they are looking for someone else to talk to besides their spouse!

Home is where we park it now.

We are just starting out on our adventures, so we will be learning a lot about living in a smaller space.  Thank you for following along with us as we travel across the country.  Stay tuned for more updates as we travel the US!
