San Angelo, TX

On October 16th we left Indiana and headed back towards home via I-80, I-55, and I-44.  It was good to get back to San Angelo for a week to catch up with family and friends.  We almost didn’t recognize the place after all the rain they had received!  October ended up being the 2nd wettest month in San Angelo’s history with over 11 inches (31.5 inches for the year, which is almost unheard of for West Texas)!

While home we did the Dinosaur Trail Run, had dinner with our kids, did some restocking of supplies, got the dogs groomed, and kayaked a few times.  We also spent a few days washing and waxing the motor home (that was a BIG job!).  I also updated the glass in the china hutch to have a frosted look.

Thanks to Ross and Kristi for hosting a fabulous dinner for us on Friday night!  It was great to see everyone again after almost 6 weeks on the road.  We’ll be back in December 🙂

This was a quick stop for us, but there is a lot to see and do in San Angelo.  We have a beautiful river walk area, museums and art, historic Ft. Concho,  Miss Hattie’s restaurant, Angelo State University, and Lake Nasworthy to name a few.  It’s a great little oasis in the desert of west central Texas!  If you are ever passing through the largest town in the US without an interstate (that’s a Jeopardy question, by the way!) stop in and visit.  The people are the best and you’ll find plenty to keep you busy.

My wife Carol and I enjoyed meeting you and Mike at The Latest Scoop Friday night (our favorite). I was a member of the Road Lizards with Kent Fish. We moved to Dallas area over 20 years ago. Regards

    • It was great meeting you both also and hearing about Road Lizards history! Hope you had a wonderful Christmas in Dallas. Maybe our paths will cross again:)
