San Angelo, TX

On November 28, we headed west via TX 29, 71, and 87 to get home to San Angelo for the holidays.  We stayed at Goodfellow AFB Rec Camp, which is just 4 miles from our old house!   This was our first Christmas in the motorhome, so decorating was a new adventure…..on a smaller scale. And, of course,  it was great to spend Christmas day with our grown kids:)

Even though it was the holidays, we still found time to get out and exercise or enjoy being outside.  Luckily, winters in Texas are usually pretty mild.

It was great to be home and to enjoy many of our usual holiday events and to see friends and family.  We were able to go to the annual Science Teacher’s Christmas party…

and the Corvette Club Christmas party….

and the Road Lizard’s Running Club Christmas party.

We also were able to participate in three different events involving the beautiful lights along the Concho River:  We did the Rudolph Run, Kayaked on the Concho, and volunteered at the Christmas Lights Tour.  Our town is so pretty during the holidays!

Our Friday run group continued to support our ice cream habit.  The Latest Scoop is the best ice cream anywhere!  We also convinced everyone to try an Escape Room adventure, which was fun with a group of 10 friends (some better puzzle solvers than others–lol)  We did escape with 3 minutes to spare!  I also did a few little decorating  updates to our motor home while here.

We celebrated New Year’s Day with our annual Road Lizard Brunch and Fun Run.  A 3 mile run is a great way to start towards those fitness resolutions!  We did some hiking close to home and Mike also completed the Bandera Trail Run.  He walked 50K in 9 hours and 16 minutes, so I guess his knee is officially healed:)

As we get ready to head out on the road again this week, I stopped in to see my friends at Central High School.  I miss the people, but not the long hours and hard work.  Our 6 weeks here have passed too quickly, but new adventures await….
