Summer Update: It’s almost time to travel!

We have had a busy summer getting ready to live and travel in our motor home.  We closed on our house on May 25th and then house-sat for our daughter over the summer while she was in Colorado for a physical therapy clinical rotation.  The time there gave us a chance to do some necessary repairs and upgrades to her townhouse.

I got to spend 3 weeks in Colorado, as well, and enjoyed the time with my sisters and parents.  I love spending time with family and revisiting some of my favorite places.

My sisters and I also went to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, for a cousin reunion.  I hadn’t seen my cousins in about 20 years, but it was so much fun and I think we all felt like we were back in our childhood days together.  Thanks Richard and Lisa for hosting!

My husband, Mike, had a partial knee replacement at the end of July, so much of August has been recuperating and physical therapy time for him.  He is making great progress and will see the doctor on Friday for his ok to travel.

In August we also sold a rental house that we owned here in town.  We have updated our wills, gotten new glasses, sorted and filed away paperwork, changed mailing addresses, and bought new bikes among other tasks.   All of the loose ends are being tied up!

At the beginning of August, we moved into the motorhome at our local Goodfellow REC Campgroud.  It has been a great place to get a preview of life in the RV.   We  have since made a few adjustments and have purchased a few items to help things flow more smoothly.  Our current plan is to hit the road on Tuesday, September 11th, so stay tuned!

  3. LOVE this and this is one cousin who is very sad that she could not make the reunion. I have been to that Chapel, your mom and Manny took me there before! Good luck on your travels and be safe. Miss you all…
